Deadlocks increasing
started getting flooded with alot of emails(see below) with deadlocks. The
current value does not drop back down, it remains at 4 until I restart the
SQL server. This has happened once in the past before, about 3 weeks ago.
We fixed it by restarting the server. I have DBCC OPENTRAN on all databases
and there are no active transaction open. Perfmon shows that I have 0
deadlocks but still I get these emails. Turning trace 1204 also shows me 0
deadlocks occurring. Can someone help me.

DDS Sends multiple emails. Bug?
can anyone tell me what's going on here.
I BCC myself on all data driven subscriptions to ensure people are receiving
their subscriptions and there is no funny business going on.
In one case, the query for my data driven subscription returns one record.
So I should only get one email sent out. However, 2 emails are being
posted.
In other cases however, the correct emails are sent.
Is this a bug? Or is something happening that is causing RS to
occaisionally pick up duplicates?
thanks
MattDDS should not send out duplicate emails. The log files should give you
some hint if the same notification is being processed twice.

subscription. I had one that sent to multiple people, but they were
getting two emails every morning so I disabled it to test out the
issue. I created a new subscription last night and when I came in this
morning, I had THREE emails waiting for me. All had the exact same
time stamp down to the second. I have no idea why it would deliver to
me three times, but this is obviously a big issue.
Does anyone have any insights into what causes this? Most of my
subscriptions work just fine. But there's just something off with a
few of these.

t
SQL Server Agent. The SQL Server Agent retains the last DBMail setting that
was available when the Agent started. Since I had no DBMail the last time
SQL Server Agent had been started it did not care what I was doing with
DBMail until I started the Agent again and then it refreshed its information
and worked fine.
This means any changes to an existing configuration of DBMail will also
require a restart of SQL Server Agent otherwise the Agent will be using the
configuration that existed when it started last. I was hoping for more of a
dynamic communication between DBMail and SQL Server Agent but it is working
now for jobs and alerts so hooray.

Dbmail sending mails but recognised as spam by outlook07 and spamassasin.
Just started playing with the server 05 demo I am trying out the dbmail tool/ sp.
Problem is that mails are being recognised as spam!
Emails are being sent as text. Both Outlook 07 and spamassasin recognise the mail as spam :S....
I sent same info via outlok and all is ok. Difference is the header. Has anybody come across this? Know of a solution?
Thanks

Please explain.

dbmail doesn't rely on IIS SMTP, how to set bounced email redirect email etc.? thanks
Under IIS SMTP I can set bounced email redirect etc. how to do that with dbmail, the idea is I can get the list of bounced emails somewhere so I can create a report.
Any idea?
thanks
DB Mail sends to an SMTP server. You need to configure the SMTP server to return bounced emails.Normally, this goes to "postmaster, sender" as a default.
|||
That makes sense, I just found I set dbmail profile to use relay server, which runs Kerio email, I guess it is Kerio SMTP which send out the email, then the setting need to be done on Kerio.
Thanks
